When I wish, a singing girl sings to me in Baghdad;
If I wish, Qayna sings for me in Baghdad
And if I wish, the collared doves sing to me.
And if I wish, the ring-necked dove sings for me

My attire is the keen sword or a safflower-dyed waist-wrap,
My clothes are a sword or a yellowed loincloth
And an iron coat of mail or a shirt scented with saffron perfume.
And an iron shield or a tattered shirt
