وَلَقَد طَلَبنا في البِلادِ فَلَم نَجِد

وَلَقَد طَلَبنا في البِلادِ فَلَم نَجِد

أَحَداً سِواكَ إِلى المَكارِمِ يُنسَبُ

أَحَداً سِواكَ إِلى المَكارِمِ يُنسَبُ

And indeed we searched the lands, but did not find

We have searched through the lands, but found no one

Anyone but you known for noble deeds.

Save you, linked to all that is good and virtuous.

فَاِصبِر لِعادتِنا الَّتي عَوَّدتَنا

فَاِصبِر لِعادتِنا الَّتي عَوَّدتَنا

أَو لا فَأَرشِدنا إِلى مَن نَذهَبُ

أَو لا فَأَرشِدنا إِلى مَن نَذهَبُ

So bear with our habit, to which you have accustomed us,

So bear with our ways which you have accustomed us to,

Or, if not, then guide us to whom we should go.

Or guide us to one that we should turn to.
