حَيَّتكَ بِالرامِشن رامِشنَةٌ
أَحسَنُlovelier مِنthan رامِشنَةِa bouquet of الآسِmyrtle
أَحسَنُ مِن رامِشنَةِ الآسِ
A bouquet greeted you with fragrant herbs,
Your greeting with eyeliner is more eyeliner
lovelier than a bouquet of myrtle:
Than the eyeliner of the colonnade
جارِيَةٌa young woman لَمnot يقتَسمbe shared بضعُهاher sexual favors
جارِيَةٌ لَم يقتَسم بضعُها
وَلَمand not تَبِتspend the night فيin بَيتِthe house of نَخّاسِa slave trader
وَلَم تَبِت في بَيتِ نَخّاسِ
a young woman whose sexual favors have not been shared,
A girl whose charms have not been shared
and who has never spent a night in a slave trader’s house.
And who did not spend the night in a pimp's house
أَفسَدتyou estranged إِنساناًa person عَلىfrom أَهلِهِhis family
أَفسَدت إِنساناً عَلى أَهلِهِ
ياO مُفسِدone who turns الناسِpeople عَلىagainst الناسِpeople
يا مُفسِد الناسِ عَلى الناسِ
You have turned a man against his family,
You have ruined a man against his family
O you who turn people against one another!
O corrupter of people against people
