With that which gives life to frail bones

واجعلن عقلي لها مهراً حلال
Wed the tawny wine to crystal-clear water,
Marry the blond to the limpid water
and make my reason her lawful dowry.
And make my mind her legitimate dowry

Bring it near my heart and chest, pour it

Say to the shaykh whose heart rejects it
Do not fear, for God ever accepts repentance and forgives.
Fear not, for God is Forgiving and Merciful

We have spent our lives in idle talk and gossip.
We spent our life in talk and words

My friend, arise, for the space has narrowed
