أَمَّنوا الرِّيح لي سَلاماً زَكِيَّا

أَمَّنوا الرِّيح لي سَلاماً زَكِيَّا

ثمَّ جاءَتْ للحيِّ تسأَلُ عنِّي

ثمَّ جاءَتْ للحيِّ تسأَلُ عنِّي

They entrusted the wind with a pure greeting for me.

They sent the gracious wind to bid me peace,

Then she came to the encampment, asking about me.

Then to the living did she turn and ask of me.

هاتِ لي هذه الأَمانَةَ منهُمْ

هاتِ لي هذه الأَمانَةَ منهُمْ

وخُذي هذه الأَمانَةَ مِنِّي

وخُذي هذه الأَمانَةَ مِنِّي

Bring me this entrusted message from them,

"Give me this trust," she said, "to carry unto them,

and take this entrusted message from me.

And take thou back this trust to keep with thee."
