فرآى في نسجه ملكاً كبيرا

The weary eye gazed upon their light,

Their gaze's light dimmed slightly

And saw in its weave a vast dominion.

And in their weave he saw a grand king

واجتلى من كلِّ برجٍ قمراً

واجتلى من كلِّ برجٍ قمراً

في سموات معانيهم منيرا

في سموات معانيهم منيرا

And beheld, from every constellation, a moon

From each tower shone a full moon

Shining in the heavens of their meanings.

وتلا الحادي مثاني وصفهم

فانجلت أسرارها روضاً نضيرا

فانجلت أسرارها روضاً نضيرا

And the camel-driver recited oft-repeated verses describing them,

And the narrator recited their attributes

Then their mysteries unfolded as a verdant garden.

So their mysteries shone like a blooming meadow
