مُذِ انْطَوَتِ القُلُوبُ على هَواكُمْ

مُذِ انْطَوَتِ القُلُوبُ على هَواكُمْ

تَعالَتْ عن مُدانَسَةِ الشُّكوكِ

تَعالَتْ عن مُدانَسَةِ الشُّكوكِ

Since hearts have enfolded love for you,

Since hearts have been devoted to your love,

They have risen above the taint of doubts.

They have risen above the impurities of doubts,

ونالَتْ من مَحَبَّتِكُمْ فُنوناً

ونالَتْ من مَحَبَّتِكُمْ فُنوناً

رِقاقاً لم تُسَطَّرْ بالصُّكوكِ

رِقاقاً لم تُسَطَّرْ بالصُّكوكِ

And from your love they have gained manifold arts,

And attained from your affection diverse wisdoms,

Delicate ones, not set down in documents.

Subtleties not recorded in scriptures.

وقد عرَجَتْ عن الأَكوانِ فيكُمْ

وقد عرَجَتْ عن الأَكوانِ فيكُمْ

فَغايَتُها إلى مَلِكِ المُلوكِ

فَغايَتُها إلى مَلِكِ المُلوكِ

And in you they have ascended beyond created worlds,

They have transcended the cosmos in you,

So their ultimate goal is the King of kings.

So their goal is the King of kings,

وغابَتْ للتَّواصَلِ بانْقِطاعٍ

وغابَتْ للتَّواصَلِ بانْقِطاعٍ

عن الغَيْرِ المُضَيِّعِ والشَّريكِ

عن الغَيْرِ المُضَيِّعِ والشَّريكِ

And they have vanished, seeking communion through severance

And they are absent with detachment

From the other that brings loss, and from any partner.

From the worthless other and the partner.

تَجَرَّدَ كلَّها لَكُمُ انْفِراداً

تَجَرَّدَ كلَّها لَكُمُ انْفِراداً

وهذا دِينُ أَصْحابِ السُّلوكِ

وهذا دِينُ أَصْحابِ السُّلوكِ

All of them have stripped themselves bare for you alone,

All are devoted to you alone,

And this is the faith of those who tread the spiritual path.

And this is the religion of the Sufis.
