خل عنك الأوهام يا أم عمرٍو
ودعيناand spare us منfrom طيشكyour recklessness المعهودcustomary
ودعينا من طيشك المعهود
Set aside your delusions, O Umm Amr,
Leave your delusions, O mother of Amr
And spare us your customary recklessness.
And stop your habitual foolishness
كتبdecreed اللَهGod كلall خيرٍgoodness وبرٍّand righteousness
كتب اللَه كل خيرٍ وبرٍّ
ثابتٌfirmly established بالوقوفby stopping عندat الحدودthe bounds
ثابتٌ بالوقوف عند الحدود
God has decreed all goodness and righteousness—
God has decreed all good and righteousness
Made firm by keeping to the bounds.
Standing firm at the limits He prescribed
