Indeed, by chaste love, O sister of Amir,

وآليت لا الوى العزيمة في الهوى

لغيرك في الأكوان فعل مصابر

لغيرك في الأكوان فعل مصابر

And I swore never to turn my resolve in love

And I have not intended anyone else in the universes,

Toward anyone but you in all creation, as one who steadfastly endures.

Except you, an act of patience.

فلا تقطعي الودَّ القديم وأنعمي

برفق فنار الوجد حشو ضمائري

برفق فنار الوجد حشو ضمائري

So do not sever our old affection, and show me favor

So do not sever the old cordiality, and be kind

With gentleness, for longing's fire fills my innermost thoughts.

To the fire of passion, it fills my conscience,

وحبي لك الحبُّ الصميمُ ولهفتي

وحبي لك الحبُّ الصميمُ ولهفتي

تلجلجُ في بحرٍ من الدمع زاخر

تلجلجُ في بحرٍ من الدمع زاخر

And my love for you is heartfelt love, and my yearning

And my love for you is true love, and my yearning

Tosses in an overflowing sea of tears.

Surges in an ocean of abundant tears.

وما الظنُّ أن تبلي بحبك همَّتي

وما الظنُّ أن تبلي بحبك همَّتي

ونقطة سرى يوم تبلى سرائري

ونقطة سرى يوم تبلى سرائري

And I do not think love of you will wear down my resolve,

And it is unthinkable that my determination falters for love of you,

Nor the point of my secret, on the day my secrets are tested.

Or a secret iota one day exposes my secrets.
