أتيتُ إلى بابِكَ الأَمنَعِ

أتيتُ إلى بابِكَ الأَمنَعِ

ونِلْتُ قَبولاً ولم أُمْنَعِ

ونِلْتُ قَبولاً ولم أُمْنَعِ

I came to your most impregnable gate,

And gained acceptance, nor was I turned away.

ولكنْ سَنا شارِقاتِ الجَلا

ولكنْ سَنا شارِقاتِ الجَلا

لِ أقامَ جَلالَكَ في بُرْقُعِ

لِ أقامَ جَلالَكَ في بُرْقُعِ

But the radiance of majesty’s dawning lights

Has placed your majesty behind a veil.

فبالصِّدْقِ يا سيِّدي والخُضو

فبالصِّدْقِ يا سيِّدي والخُضو

عِ تَكَرَّمْ وسِرَّ الجَلالِ ارْفَعِ

عِ تَكَرَّمْ وسِرَّ الجَلالِ ارْفَعِ

So, by sincerity and humility, O my master,

Be gracious, and unveil the secret of majesty.
