    I believe in God; all existence

    Other than Him perishes, while He abides eternally.

    So purify the heart for His holiness, and be

    Obedient to His Book as it was revealed.

    And take the Hashemite's way as your path,

    For it is safe from straying into error.

    ولا تُصاحبْ يا بُنَيَّ من عَدَلْ

    And act justly by the sacred Law's ruling, and know its worth;

    And do not befriend, my dear son, anyone who turns aside.

    قد عَزَّ من الله بالإخْلاصِ ذَلْ

    And stand at the door, lowly and reverent;

    Honored indeed is he who humbles himself sincerely before God.

    No one who maintains sincerity in his deeds

    Along with piety, though cut off, fails to attain.

    And do not see power in the servant, but be

    One who takes heed, for God brings what is done to pass.

    And you did not cast when you cast; indeed,

    He is the One who cast, and nobly slew.

    You are excused for involuntary acts; so be

    Pure in your deeds in matters of choice.

    And be mindful of God when you come to Him,

    At the questioning, when He asks about your deeds.

    There are records, preserving and encompassing

    Every deed, whether abundant or scant.

    فَأيُّ صُنْعٍ إن قَوِيَ الحَيْلُ بَطَلْ

    And seize the days of youth through good deeds;

    For what deed fails if vigor is strong?

    And fear God with a reverent heart,

    For it is through fear that sloth is dispelled.

    And shun neglect of remembrance; whoever

    Neglects it is recorded among the heedless.

    وخَلِّ عنكَ رَبَّ زورٍ قد عَذَلْ

    And be enamored of God's people, and preserve their affection;

    And leave aside the purveyor of falsehood who reproaches you.

    And become pious, for piety, to its people,

    Is a treasure, and the pious one is the hero.

    And reason lies in piety; whoever forsakes it,

    Following desire into error, has not exercised reason.

    Beware of disobedience, for it is an evil impulse

    From which come torment and shame before people.

    فَخاسرٌ بِغَيرها مَنِ اشْتَغَلْ

    And master proper conduct, making it your constant pursuit;

    For whoever busies himself with anything else is a loser.

    Such conduct is none other than the Law of Taha, the Chosen One,

    Muhammad, the celebrated secret of existence.

    مَضْمونُها على العِناياتِ اشْتَمَلْ

    His code of conduct is noble and generous;

    Its substance encompasses gracious favors.

    Whoever follows it well is rightly guided,

    And whoever goes beyond it strays in error and stumbles.

    سِوى طَريقِها مُناطٌ بالفَشَلْ

    It encompasses every evident good;

    Any path but its own is bound to failure.

    It has laid, for religion and worldly life together,

    A firm, lofty rule—a mountain.

    Free, in its folding and unfolding,

    From the claims of a denier tainted with flaws.

    His mind falls short of the secret of its sublimity,

    And a base man fabricates falsehood, having failed to attain.

    Reason indeed bears witness that our Law

    Is nobler in judgment than the laws of the faiths.

    Its secret is founded upon a pattern of ample scope,

    Free from hardship and burden.

    ما ظَلَّ للعَقْلِ بهِ عَسى وَعَلْ

    Its course has reached the goal of all goals;

    No 'perhaps' or 'maybe' remains for reason regarding it.

    دَوْلَتُهُ بالعِلْمِ أعْظَمُ الدُّوَلْ

    Its mysteries—their lights are manifest;

    Its dominion, through knowledge, is the greatest of dominions.

    God has perfected it—exalted is His majesty—

    And indeed He is free from any likeness.

    So let your heart rejoice in it, and take its antidote,

    The best remedy and healing for ailments.

    For, in its definition of goodness, it is

    Like sleep, whose only dwelling is the eyes.

    May our Lord's blessing be upon its bearer,

    Muhammad, the secret of creation, the sum of hope,

    And upon his family and his companions, our masters,

    The bringers of relief when dread overwhelms,

    As long as dawn breaks and night grows dark,

    And as long as the horizon's cloudbank pours rain through the clouds.
