خَلِّ الهَوَى وأهلَهُ

خَلِّ الهَوَى وأهلَهُ

وخذْ طَريقَ من سَلَكْ

وخذْ طَريقَ من سَلَكْ

Forsake passion and its followers,

Leave passion and its people alone,

and take the path of those who have trodden it.

And take the path of those who have trodden it before.

فسالِكُ الطَّريقِ مأْ

فسالِكُ الطَّريقِ مأْ

مونٌ ومن حادَ هَلَكْ

مونٌ ومن حادَ هَلَكْ

For the traveler on the path is se-

For the walker on the path is secure,

cure, and whoever strays perishes.

While one who strays from it is lost.

رَبُّكَ بالعقلِ على ال

رَبُّكَ بالعقلِ على ال

خَلْقِ الكَثيرِ فضَّلَكْ

خَلْقِ الكَثيرِ فضَّلَكْ

Your Lord, through intellect, above the

Your Lord has favored you above the rest

many creatures has favored you.

Of creation with reason and intellect.

فرُحْ إليه خاشِعاً

فرُحْ إليه خاشِعاً

واقْصُرْ عليهِ أَمَلَكْ

واقْصُرْ عليهِ أَمَلَكْ

So go to Him humbly,

So come to Him in humility,

and confine your hope to Him.

And limit your hopes to Him alone.

أَنْتَ لهُ مِلْكٌ فكُنْ

أَنْتَ لهُ مِلْكٌ فكُنْ

رَهناً لأَمرِ من مَلَكْ

رَهناً لأَمرِ من مَلَكْ

You are His possession, so be

You belong to Him, so be

bound to the command of the One who owns you.

Obedient to the One who owns you.
