جاسَ العَدُوُّ خِلالَ دارِ عُوَيْجِزٍ

لأبي العَواجِزِ أحمدِ القومِ انْتَمى

The enemy wandered through the house of 'Uwayjiz

Seeking protection from Abu al-'Awajiz Ahmad of the tribe

فَأُعيدَ مَخْذولاً وشُلَّتْ باعُهُ

بِسهامِ أحمدَ شَيْخِنا حامي الحِمى

But he returned disappointed, and his goods were plundered
