أَصاحِبَ بيتي كلُّ ما قامَ في الوَرَى

أَصاحِبَ بيتي كلُّ ما قامَ في الوَرَى

زَوالٌ وشكلُ البارِزاتِ خَيَالُ

زَوالٌ وشكلُ البارِزاتِ خَيَالُ

O companion of my house, all that arises in creation

is passing away, and the form of visible things is illusion.

إشاراتُ أَمرٍ أَسدَلَ الأَمرُ سِتْرَها

إشاراتُ أَمرٍ أَسدَلَ الأَمرُ سِتْرَها

لها بمَضامينِ العُقولِ ظِلالُ

لها بمَضامينِ العُقولِ ظِلالُ

Signs of a matter—the command has lowered their veil—

have shadows within the contents of minds.

فقومٌ بها شُدَّتْ حِبالُ قُلوبِهِمْ

فقومٌ بها شُدَّتْ حِبالُ قُلوبِهِمْ

وقومٌ لهم عند القَديمِ حِبَالُ

وقومٌ لهم عند القَديمِ حِبَالُ

So some have the cords of their hearts bound to them,

while others have cords with the Eternal.

هي النَّومُ والرُّؤيا بكلِّ صُنوفِها

هي النَّومُ والرُّؤيا بكلِّ صُنوفِها

لها عندَ أَربابِ الفُهومِ مِثَالُ

لها عندَ أَربابِ الفُهومِ مِثَالُ

They are sleep and dreams in all their kinds;

they have a likeness in the eyes of masters of understanding.

فإنْ قمتَ ما بينَ الحَوادِثِ بارِزاً

فإنْ قمتَ ما بينَ الحَوادِثِ بارِزاً

وفوقَكَ من نورِ الظُّهورِ جَلالُ

وفوقَكَ من نورِ الظُّهورِ جَلالُ

So if you stand forth amid created things,

and above you is majesty from the light of manifestation,

فلا تبغِ إِلاَّ اللهَ والْزَمْ طَريقَتي

فلا تبغِ إِلاَّ اللهَ والْزَمْ طَريقَتي

ودعْ زُمَرَ الحُسَّادِ أنَّى مالوا

ودعْ زُمَرَ الحُسَّادِ أنَّى مالوا

then seek none but God, and keep to my path,

and leave the bands of the envious, wherever they turn.

فأنتَ على عقلٍ تنوَّرَ بالهُدى

فأنتَ على عقلٍ تنوَّرَ بالهُدى

وفيهِمْ من الشِّرْكِ الخَفِيِّ خَبَالُ

وفيهِمْ من الشِّرْكِ الخَفِيِّ خَبَالُ

For you are grounded in reason illumined by guidance,

while within them is derangement born of hidden polytheism.

ذُبابٌ رَأَوْا فوقَ الجِبالِ وُجودَهُمْ

ذُبابٌ رَأَوْا فوقَ الجِبالِ وُجودَهُمْ

ألا هُمْ ذُبابٌ والجِبالُ جِبَالُ

ألا هُمْ ذُبابٌ والجِبالُ جِبَالُ

Flies—they saw themselves above the mountains;

behold, they are flies, and the mountains are mountains.

وللسِّرِّ حكمٌ لا يُفارِقُ أَهلَهُ

وللسِّرِّ حكمٌ لا يُفارِقُ أَهلَهُ

وللدِّينِ من بيتِ النَّبيِّ رِجَالُ

وللدِّينِ من بيتِ النَّبيِّ رِجَالُ

And the secret has authority that never leaves its people,

and the faith has men from the Prophet’s household.
