قد قامَ ينفُخُ داعي الصُّورِ في الصُّورِ

قد قامَ ينفُخُ داعي الصُّورِ في الصُّورِ

فيا قُلوباً أُميتَتْ بالهوَى ثُوري

فيا قُلوباً أُميتَتْ بالهوَى ثُوري

The herald of the Trumpet has risen to blow into the Trumpet.

So rise up, O hearts that passion has slain!

جَلْجالُ روحِ التَّدلِّي رنَّ فانْبَسِطي

جَلْجالُ روحِ التَّدلِّي رنَّ فانْبَسِطي

يا رُوحَ عبدٍ ببابِ الحقِّ مَذْكورِ

يا رُوحَ عبدٍ ببابِ الحقِّ مَذْكورِ

The bell of the spirit of drawing near has rung; unfold,

O soul of a servant remembered at the gate of the Real.

قد آنَ كشفُ الغِطاءَ البَحْتِ عن طَرَفٍ

قد آنَ كشفُ الغِطاءَ البَحْتِ عن طَرَفٍ

من سِرِّ حكمٍ بطَيِّ الغَيْبِ مَضْمورِ

من سِرِّ حكمٍ بطَيِّ الغَيْبِ مَضْمورِ

The time has come to lift the sheer veil from a portion

Of a decree's secret, concealed in the folds of the unseen.

قمْنا له بقُلوبٍ لا انْفِكاكَ لها

قمْنا له بقُلوبٍ لا انْفِكاكَ لها

عنِ الجَنابِ مَحَتْ وهْمَ التَّصاويرِ

عنِ الجَنابِ مَحَتْ وهْمَ التَّصاويرِ

We have risen for Him with hearts that cannot be parted

From the Presence, having effaced the illusion of forms.

فانزِلْ بنا يا مُريدَ الحقِّ إنَّ لنا

فانزِلْ بنا يا مُريدَ الحقِّ إنَّ لنا

حِمًى أقام رحاباً غيرَ مَهْجورِ

حِمًى أقام رحاباً غيرَ مَهْجورِ

So alight with us, O seeker of the Real, for we have

A sanctuary He established with spacious courts, never deserted.

يُديرُ أَفلاكَ أَسرارِ الغُيوبِ على

يُديرُ أَفلاكَ أَسرارِ الغُيوبِ على

برجٍ بهامَةِ طُورِ الفتحِ مَعْمورِ

برجٍ بهامَةِ طُورِ الفتحِ مَعْمورِ

He turns the spheres of the secrets of the unseen upon

An inhabited tower at the summit of the Mount of Illumination.

فلا تُبارِحْ إذا ما كنتَ عبدَ هُدًى

فلا تُبارِحْ إذا ما كنتَ عبدَ هُدًى

خِيامَنا والْوِ رَأساً جانِبَ الطُّورِ

خِيامَنا والْوِ رَأساً جانِبَ الطُّورِ

So do not leave, if indeed you are a servant of guidance,

Our tents; and turn your head toward the Mount.

وسِرْ إلى الحقِّ من أَبوابِ حضرَتِنا

وسِرْ إلى الحقِّ من أَبوابِ حضرَتِنا

فإنَّها حضرَةٌ وضَّاحَةُ النُّورِ

فإنَّها حضرَةٌ وضَّاحَةُ النُّورِ

And journey to the Real through the gates of our presence,

For it is a presence radiant with light.

وقفْ لديها ببَرٍّ لا حُدودَ له

وقفْ لديها ببَرٍّ لا حُدودَ له

وخُضْ ببحرٍ من العِرْفانِ مَسْجورِ

وخُضْ ببحرٍ من العِرْفانِ مَسْجورِ

And stand before it on land that has no bounds,

And wade into a brimming sea of gnosis.

شِدْنا لها قُلَلاً من حكمةٍ وتُقًى

شِدْنا لها قُلَلاً من حكمةٍ وتُقًى

لا مثلَ من شيَّدوا الجُدْرانَ للدُّورِ

لا مثلَ من شيَّدوا الجُدْرانَ للدُّورِ

We raised for it pinnacles of wisdom and piety,

Not like those who raised walls for houses.

وقد طوَيْنا بها سِرَّ الطَّريقِ وقد

وقد طوَيْنا بها سِرَّ الطَّريقِ وقد

زِينَتْ بطَيٍّ بمُلْكِ اللهِ مَنْشورِ

زِينَتْ بطَيٍّ بمُلْكِ اللهِ مَنْشورِ

And we have enfolded within it the Path's secret, and it has

Been adorned with a fold unfurled throughout God's dominion.

يا حضرَةً حفَّها الهادي بظرَتِهِ

يا حضرَةً حفَّها الهادي بظرَتِهِ

فأصبحَتْ خيرَ محفوفٍ ومَنْظورِ

فأصبحَتْ خيرَ محفوفٍ ومَنْظورِ

O presence that the Guide encompassed with his gaze,

It thus became the finest of all things encompassed and beheld.

قامتْ بها دولَةُ العَلْيا وعن شَرَفٍ

قامتْ بها دولَةُ العَلْيا وعن شَرَفٍ

أَعْتابَها رصَّعتْها أَعيُنُ الحُورِ

أَعْتابَها رصَّعتْها أَعيُنُ الحُورِ

The reign of sublimity arose within it; and, in honor,

The eyes of houris studded its thresholds.

رقَّتْ مَعاني المَثاني في جَوانِبِها

رقَّتْ مَعاني المَثاني في جَوانِبِها

برِقِّ ذَوْقٍ من الأَفْهامِ مَسْطورِ

برِقِّ ذَوْقٍ من الأَفْهامِ مَسْطورِ

The meanings of the oft-repeated verses grew subtle within its bounds,

Inscribed by discerning minds on the parchment of spiritual taste.

محمَّدٌ عَلَمُ الأَكْوانِ أفرَغَها

محمَّدٌ عَلَمُ الأَكْوانِ أفرَغَها

لنا فيا حُسْنَ فضلٍ منه مَشْكورِ

لنا فيا حُسْنَ فضلٍ منه مَشْكورِ

Muhammad, the banner of all worlds, poured them forth

For us—how lovely a favor from him, deserving thanks!

هو النَّبيُّ الَّذي أحْيى القُلُوبِ به

هو النَّبيُّ الَّذي أحْيى القُلُوبِ به

مولاهُ فضْلاً بدِينٍ غيرَ مَنْكورِ

مولاهُ فضْلاً بدِينٍ غيرَ مَنْكورِ

He is the Prophet through whom hearts were brought to life

By his Lord, in grace, through a faith beyond denial.

يَجلو ظَلامَ شُؤُنٍ حارَ ناقِدُها

يَجلو ظَلامَ شُؤُنٍ حارَ ناقِدُها

أَجرَتْ على أَهْلِها سَيَّالَ دَيْجورِ

أَجرَتْ على أَهْلِها سَيَّالَ دَيْجورِ

He dispels the darkness of affairs whose examiner was bewildered,

Affairs that loosed a torrent of pitch-darkness upon their people.

يُفيضُ حِكمَةَ حقٍّ حُكْمُها مَدَدٌ

يُفيضُ حِكمَةَ حقٍّ حُكْمُها مَدَدٌ

قضَى بجيشٍ عَظيمِ الجَاشِ منْصُورِ

قضَى بجيشٍ عَظيمِ الجَاشِ منْصُورِ

He pours forth true wisdom, whose decree is succor;

He passed judgment through an army, stout of heart and victorious.

حَمَى طَريقَ الهُدى دهراً بنائِبِهِ

حَمَى طَريقَ الهُدى دهراً بنائِبِهِ

شيخِ العَواجِزِ مأوى كلِّ مَذْعُورِ

شيخِ العَواجِزِ مأوى كلِّ مَذْعُورِ

He guarded the path of guidance for an age through his deputy,

The shaykh of the helpless, refuge of all who are terrified.

أقامَهُ عنه شِبْلاً وارِثاً فأَتى

أقامَهُ عنه شِبْلاً وارِثاً فأَتى

بسيفِ شرعٍ حديدِ النَّصْلِ مَشْهُورِ

بسيفِ شرعٍ حديدِ النَّصْلِ مَشْهُورِ

He installed him in his stead as a lion cub and heir; then he came

With a sword of sacred law, keen-bladed and unsheathed.

وجدَّدَ السُّنَّةَ السَّمْحاءَ مُنْتَهِضاً

وجدَّدَ السُّنَّةَ السَّمْحاءَ مُنْتَهِضاً

بعزْمِ صِدقٍ جَليلِ السَّعيِ مَبْرَورِ

بعزْمِ صِدقٍ جَليلِ السَّعيِ مَبْرَورِ

And he renewed the gracious Sunnah, rising to act

With sincere resolve, noble in endeavor and blessed.

عليه أَذكى الرِّضا ينهَلُّ ما تُلِيَتْ

عليه أَذكى الرِّضا ينهَلُّ ما تُلِيَتْ

بناطِقاتِ التَّجلِّي سورَةُ الطُّورِ

بناطِقاتِ التَّجلِّي سورَةُ الطُّورِ

May the most fragrant good pleasure rain upon him as long as there is recited,

Through the speaking signs of self-disclosure, Surat al-Tur.
