    لهم من المدد القدسي إسعادُ

    In these worlds, God has His singular ones;

They are blessed with sacred succor.

Their footsteps afterward come spiritual poles and ascetics.

The measured recitation of the wisdom they disclosed stirred longing

In the timbers of the pulpits during preaching.

The knowers of God are His men; their way

In the world is divine knowledge and guidance.

Among them upon this mute earth is a band

Who have succeeded one another; they are its stakes, without doubt.

Were it not for their Muhammad and those who follow him,

Egypt would not be Egypt, nor Baghdad Baghdad.
