إطمِسْ مَشاهِدَكَ التي

تبدو وأنتَ المَنْبَعُ

تبدو وأنتَ المَنْبَعُ

Blot out your visions that

Erase your visions that

appear, while you are the source.

Seem as you are the source

يَعلو خَيالَكَ طافِحاً

يَعلو خَيالَكَ طافِحاً

يُعطى هُناكَ ويَمْنَعُ

يُعطى هُناكَ ويَمْنَعُ

It rises above your imagination, overflowing;

Let your imagination rise high

there it is given, and it withholds.

Giving there and preventing here

ويَطيرُ للمَلإِ العَلِ

ويَطيرُ للمَلإِ العَلِ

يِّ وعِشُّهُ لا يُقَطَعُ

يِّ وعِشُّهُ لا يُقَطَعُ

And it flies to the exalted assembly,

And flying to the exalted fulfillment

and its nest is not cut off.

And living it uninterrupted

هَجَسَ الخَيالُ طَرائِقاً

هَجَسَ الخَيالُ طَرائِقاً

وجَميعُها لا تنفَعُ

وجَميعُها لا تنفَعُ

Imagination conceived paths,

Imagination has paved ways

and all of them are of no use—

Yet all are unavailing

أَوْهامَ مَصْروعِ الحَضي

أَوْهامَ مَصْروعِ الحَضي

ضِ إلى العُلى يتَطَلَّعُ

ضِ إلى العُلى يتَطَلَّعُ

delusions of one laid low in the depths,

Illusions of the fallen self

who aspires to the heights.

Aspiring to the sublime

وأَخو الكَمالِ بطبْعِهِ

وأَخو الكَمالِ بطبْعِهِ

عن طَوْرِها يترَفَّعُ

عن طَوْرِها يترَفَّعُ

And one endowed with perfection, by his nature,

And the brother of Perfection by nature

rises above their level.

Is above its caprice

وبغيرِ قولِ المُصْطَفى

وبغيرِ قولِ المُصْطَفى

وكِتابِهِ لا يقْنَعُ

وكِتابِهِ لا يقْنَعُ

And with anything but al-Mustafa's word

And without the word of the Chosen One

and his Book, he is not content.

And His Book he is not satisfied
