ولمَّا دُعينا والدُّجا في غَلالَةٍ

ولمَّا دُعينا والدُّجا في غَلالَةٍ

إلى الحضْرَةِ البيضاءِ من واسِطِ الشَّرْقِ

إلى الحضْرَةِ البيضاءِ من واسِطِ الشَّرْقِ

And when we were summoned, while darkness lay in a thin veil,

When we were called, amid the darkness of night,

to the white Presence from Wasit of the East,

To the luminous presence from the orient's core,

تجلَّتْ لنا الأَنْوارُ من كلِّ جانِبٍ

تجلَّتْ لنا الأَنْوارُ من كلِّ جانِبٍ

وغِبْنا بفتحِ الحَقِّ عن جُمْلَةِ الخَلْقِ

وغِبْنا بفتحِ الحَقِّ عن جُمْلَةِ الخَلْقِ

the lights revealed themselves to us from every side,

The lights shone upon us from every side,

and through the Truth's opening, we lost awareness of all creation.

And we were lost in the opening of Truth from all creation.

كذلك من قامَتْ حَقيقَةُ روحِهِ

كذلك من قامَتْ حَقيقَةُ روحِهِ

إلى اللهِ بالإِخْلاصِ والزُّهْدِ والصِّدْقِ

إلى اللهِ بالإِخْلاصِ والزُّهْدِ والصِّدْقِ

Likewise, one whose spirit's true nature has risen

Thus whoever's soul-reality stands sincere

to God through sincerity, renunciation, and truthfulness,

To God in devotion, detachment and honesty,

يمُنُّ عليه اللهُ جلَّ جَلالُهُ

يمُنُّ عليه اللهُ جلَّ جَلالُهُ

ويُفرِغُ فيه نقطَةَ الوصلِ في الخَلْقِ

ويُفرِغُ فيه نقطَةَ الوصلِ في الخَلْقِ

God—exalted is His majesty—bestows favor upon him,

God - exalted is His majesty - grants him favor

and pours into him the point of union within creation.

And instills in him creation's connecting point.

فيزْكو بإذْنِ اللهِ في الخلقِ خُلقُهُ

فيزْكو بإذْنِ اللهِ في الخلقِ خُلقُهُ

ويَلوي عن الدُّنيا كما لَيَّةِ البَرْقِ

ويَلوي عن الدُّنيا كما لَيَّةِ البَرْقِ

Thus, by God's leave, his character grows pure among created beings,

So by God's leave, his character is purified among people,

and he turns away from the world like the twist of lightning,

And he turns from this life like the blinking of lightning.

ويُصلِحُ بالتَّوحيدِ أَوْهامَ قلبِهِ

ويُصلِحُ بالتَّوحيدِ أَوْهامَ قلبِهِ

على منهَجِ الإيمانِ في الجمعِ والفَرْقِ

على منهَجِ الإيمانِ في الجمعِ والفَرْقِ

and through affirming God's oneness, he corrects his heart's illusions,

By Oneness he reforms his heart's illusions

along the path of faith, in union and separation.

Upon the path of faith, both joining and dividing.

شُؤُنٌ أَفاضَ اللهُ للخلقِ سِرَّها

شُؤُنٌ أَفاضَ اللهُ للخلقِ سِرَّها

فجِئْتَ لأهلِ الحَقِّ من قِبَلِ الحَقِّ

فجِئْتَ لأهلِ الحَقِّ من قِبَلِ الحَقِّ

Affairs whose secret God has poured forth for creation;

Mysteries which God poured out to creation -

so you came to the people of Truth from the Truth.

You came to the people of Truth from the Truth.
