نحنُ شُموسُ الحضْرَةِ المُشَعْشِعَهْ

نحنُ شُموسُ الحضْرَةِ المُشَعْشِعَهْ

عُيونُها المُبصِرَةُ المُطَّلِعَهْ

عُيونُها المُبصِرَةُ المُطَّلِعَهْ

We are the radiant suns of the Presence,

its seeing, watchful eyes.

نحنُ السُّيوفُ البارِقاتُ لم تزلْ

نحنُ السُّيوفُ البارِقاتُ لم تزلْ

بنا حِبالُ من بَغى مُنْقَطِعَهْ

بنا حِبالُ من بَغى مُنْقَطِعَهْ

We are the flashing swords; ever

through us the cords of transgressors remain severed.

أَسرارُنا طائرَةٌ لربِّنا

أَسرارُنا طائرَةٌ لربِّنا

خاشِعَةٌ لأمرِهِ مُسْتمِعَهْ

خاشِعَةٌ لأمرِهِ مُسْتمِعَهْ

Our secrets soar toward our Lord,

reverent, listening to His command.

دُروعُ غيرِنا حَديدٌ وتَرى

دُروعُ غيرِنا حَديدٌ وتَرى

أَجسامَنا بذِكرِهِ مُدَّرِعَهْ

أَجسامَنا بذِكرِهِ مُدَّرِعَهْ

Others' armor is iron, while you see

our bodies armored in His remembrance.

بَطيئةٌ قُلوبُنا إلى السِّوى

بَطيئةٌ قُلوبُنا إلى السِّوى

لكنْ إلى اللهِ تَعالى مُسرِعَهْ

لكنْ إلى اللهِ تَعالى مُسرِعَهْ

Our hearts are slow to turn toward anything other than Him,

but swift toward God, exalted is He.

مَنَّ الكَريمُ فأَعزَّ شأنَنا

مَنَّ الكَريمُ فأَعزَّ شأنَنا

بنفحَةٍ ذاتِ شُؤُنٍ مُشبِعَهْ

بنفحَةٍ ذاتِ شُؤُنٍ مُشبِعَهْ

The Generous One bestowed favor and exalted our standing

with a breath of grace whose workings bring fulfillment.

مَظاهِرٌ أيَّدَها مَفاخِرٌ

مَظاهِرٌ أيَّدَها مَفاخِرٌ

ببيْتِنا كَثيرةٌ مُجتمِعَهْ

ببيْتِنا كَثيرةٌ مُجتمِعَهْ

Manifestations upheld by glories,

gathered in great number in our house,

من هاشِمٍ إلى الرَّسولِ المُصْطَفى

من هاشِمٍ إلى الرَّسولِ المُصْطَفى

ربِّ دَوائرِ الهُدى المُتَّسِعَهْ

ربِّ دَوائرِ الهُدى المُتَّسِعَهْ

from Hashim to the chosen Messenger,

master of the expanding circles of guidance.

سِرُّ نِكاتِ الطَّمْسِ في بحرِ العَما

سِرُّ نِكاتِ الطَّمْسِ في بحرِ العَما

موجَتُهُ الهائجةُ المُندَلِعَهْ

موجَتُهُ الهائجةُ المُندَلِعَهْ

The secret of effacement's subtleties in the sea of the Cloud,

its turbulent, bursting wave;

سيِّدُ ساداتِ صُدورِ الأَنبِيا

سيِّدُ ساداتِ صُدورِ الأَنبِيا

ءِ وكِرامِ الأُمَمِ المتَّبِعَهْ

ءِ وكِرامِ الأُمَمِ المتَّبِعَهْ

master of the masters among the foremost prophets

and the noble ones of the nations that follow.

ومنه للطُّهرِ عليٍّ وإلى السِّ

ومنه للطُّهرِ عليٍّ وإلى السِّ

بْطَيْنِ والزَّهراءِ نِعمَ الأَربعَهْ

بْطَيْنِ والزَّهراءِ نِعمَ الأَربعَهْ

And from him to the pure Ali, and to the two

grandsons and al-Zahra—how excellent are the four!

وللأئمَّةِ الهُداةِ من بَني

وللأئمَّةِ الهُداةِ من بَني

حيدَرَةٍ أُولي النُّصوصِ المُقنِعَهْ

حيدَرَةٍ أُولي النُّصوصِ المُقنِعَهْ

And to the guiding imams from the sons of

Haydara, possessors of convincing texts.

ومنهُمْ إلى الرِّفاعِيِّ الَّذي

ومنهُمْ إلى الرِّفاعِيِّ الَّذي

على رِجالِ اللهِ رَبِّي رَفَعَهْ

على رِجالِ اللهِ رَبِّي رَفَعَهْ

And from them to al-Rifa'i, whom

my Lord raised above the men of God.

سيِّدُهُمْ فَتاهُمْ وشيخُهُمْ

سيِّدُهُمْ فَتاهُمْ وشيخُهُمْ

وصاحِبُ الطَّريقَةِ المُتَّبَعَهْ

وصاحِبُ الطَّريقَةِ المُتَّبَعَهْ

Their master, their noble youth, and their shaykh,

and the master of the path that is followed.

لنا تدلَّتْ وانْجلتْ برُحبِنا

لنا تدلَّتْ وانْجلتْ برُحبِنا

فراحَ للحشْرِ بخيرٍ وَدَعَهْ

فراحَ للحشْرِ بخيرٍ وَدَعَهْ

It descended to us and was unveiled in our spacious domain,

so he departed for the Gathering with the good he had left behind.

السِّرُّ في المَصْنوعِ أَمرٌ قائِمٌ

السِّرُّ في المَصْنوعِ أَمرٌ قائِمٌ

بصُنعِهِ جلَّ الَّذي قد صَنَعَهْ

بصُنعِهِ جلَّ الَّذي قد صَنَعَهْ

The secret within the created thing is a reality that subsists

through His making—exalted is He who made it!

نحنُ عِباراتُ الأَساليبِ التي

نحنُ عِباراتُ الأَساليبِ التي

في صُحُفِ الغيبِ الخَفِيِّ مودَعَهْ

في صُحُفِ الغيبِ الخَفِيِّ مودَعَهْ

We are the expressions of the modes that

lie stored in the scrolls of the hidden Unseen.

نحنُ البُدورُ في سَمَواتِ العُلى

نحنُ البُدورُ في سَمَواتِ العُلى

بكلِّ طمْسٍ من هُدانا شَعْشَعَهْ

بكلِّ طمْسٍ من هُدانا شَعْشَعَهْ

We are the full moons in the heavens on high;

in every effacement there is radiance from our guidance.

فقلْ لنابِحٍ علينا حَسَداً

فقلْ لنابِحٍ علينا حَسَداً

فلْيأْتِ إن شاءَ بنابِحٍ مَعَهْ

فلْيأْتِ إن شاءَ بنابِحٍ مَعَهْ

So say to one barking at us out of envy:

let him then come, if he wishes, with a barker beside him.

أَيَّدَنا الجَبَّارُ رَغْمَ أَنفِهِ

أَيَّدَنا الجَبَّارُ رَغْمَ أَنفِهِ

فليرْتَقِبْ من الغُيوبِ مصْرَعَهْ

فليرْتَقِبْ من الغُيوبِ مصْرَعَهْ

The Compeller has upheld us, in spite of him;

so let him await his death from the unseen realms.

عَدَا على مُبْرِزِنا لغَيِّهِ

عَدَا على مُبْرِزِنا لغَيِّهِ

وجَهِلَ الوضعَ الَّذي قد وَضَعَهْ

وجَهِلَ الوضعَ الَّذي قد وَضَعَهْ

He assailed the one who brought us forth, out of his waywardness,

and knew nothing of the arrangement he had laid down,

وأنَّنا باللهِ عزَّ شأنُهُ

وأنَّنا باللهِ عزَّ شأنُهُ

رِماحُنا على العِدى مُشَرَّعَهْ

رِماحُنا على العِدى مُشَرَّعَهْ

and that we, through God—exalted is His majesty—

have our spears leveled against the enemies.

تَسَنَّمَتْ هامَ العُلى هِمَّتُنا

تَسَنَّمَتْ هامَ العُلى هِمَّتُنا

لم تنفَعِ الحاسِدَ فينا الفَعْفَعَهْ

لم تنفَعِ الحاسِدَ فينا الفَعْفَعَهْ

Our aspiration has scaled the summits on high;

the envier's bluster against us has done him no good.

فنحنُ للدِّينِ وللدُّنيا معاً

فنحنُ للدِّينِ وللدُّنيا معاً

ولِصُنوفِ الخلقِ محضُ المَنْفَعَهْ

ولِصُنوفِ الخلقِ محضُ المَنْفَعَهْ

For we, to religion and this world alike,

and to all kinds of creation, are pure benefit.

أَسرارُنا تحمِلُها قُلوبُنا

أَسرارُنا تحمِلُها قُلوبُنا

بها الكُنوزُ ليس بالمُرَقَّعَهْ

بها الكُنوزُ ليس بالمُرَقَّعَهْ

Our secrets are borne by our hearts;

in them are the treasures, not in the patched cloak.

ونحنُ في الأَرضِ وَسائِطُ السَّما

ونحنُ في الأَرضِ وَسائِطُ السَّما

لمن يُريدُ الأَمنَ يومَ المَفْزَعَهْ

لمن يُريدُ الأَمنَ يومَ المَفْزَعَهْ

And on earth we are the intermediaries of heaven

for whoever seeks safety on the day of dread.

كم فرَّقَ الحاسِدُ وهْماً أَمرَنا

كم فرَّقَ الحاسِدُ وهْماً أَمرَنا

واللهُ إِرْغاماً له قد جَمَعَهْ

واللهُ إِرْغاماً له قد جَمَعَهْ

How often the envier fancied he had divided our cause,

yet God, to his humiliation, has brought it together.

على طُوى القُلوبِ من أَلبابِنا

على طُوى القُلوبِ من أَلبابِنا

صُقورُ عزمٍ قد كشَفْنَ المَقْنَعَهْ

صُقورُ عزمٍ قد كشَفْنَ المَقْنَعَهْ

Over the Tuwa of hearts, from our intellects,

falcons of resolve have lifted the veil.

ودُرَرُ الإِتْحافِ لو عرفْتَها

ودُرَرُ الإِتْحافِ لو عرفْتَها

أَذْيالُنا بفَذِّها مُرَصَّعَهْ

أَذْيالُنا بفَذِّها مُرَصَّعَهْ

And the pearls of bestowal, if you knew them—

our hems are studded with their peerless pearl.

والقومُ كالأَيَّامِ يا صُوَيْحِبي

والقومُ كالأَيَّامِ يا صُوَيْحِبي

ونحنُ بينَهُمْ كيومِ الجُمُعَهْ

ونحنُ بينَهُمْ كيومِ الجُمُعَهْ

And the folk are like the days, O my little friend,

and among them we are like Friday.

الحمدُ للهِ على نعمَتِهِ

الحمدُ للهِ على نعمَتِهِ

من حَمِدَ اللهَ تَعالى سَمِعَهْ

من حَمِدَ اللهَ تَعالى سَمِعَهْ

Praise be to God for His blessing.

Whoever praises God—exalted is He—is heard by Him.
