آه من وِزْرِيَ الجَسيمِ الثَّقيلِ
طالَhas lasted long منهُbecause of it تَفَجُّعيmy anguish وعَويليand my wailing
طالَ منهُ تَفَجُّعي وعَويلي
Alas for my immense, heavy burden of sin!
Oh, the burden of my heavy sins
Long have my anguish and wailing endured because of it.
Prolonged my lament and wailing
ياO إِلهيmy God بالفَضْلِthrough grace مَحِّصْcleanse away ذُنوبيmy sins
يا إِلهي بالفَضْلِ مَحِّصْ ذُنوبي
ياO غِياثَsuccor of العبدِthe servant الضَّعيفِweak الذَّليلِlowly
يا غِياثَ العبدِ الضَّعيفِ الذَّليلِ
O my God, through Your grace, cleanse away my sins,
My God, by Your grace, absolve my sins
O succor of the weak, lowly servant.
O Savior of the weak and abject slave
واعْفُand pardon عنِّيme واشْفِand heal الغَليلَthe burning thirst بصفْحٍwith forgiveness
واعْفُ عنِّي واشْفِ الغَليلَ بصفْحٍ
منfrom فُؤاديmy heart رَبِّbearer of القُروحِsores العَليلِailing
من فُؤادي رَبِّ القُروحِ العَليلِ
And pardon me, and with forgiveness quench the burning thirst
Forgive me and with pardon heal
Of my ailing heart, laden with sores.
