To a servant? And the servant hopes for his master's bounty.

Rebuff has slain every part of him with the sword's edge?

For whom loosening and binding are alike in love.

Except love—and the lovelorn know no defiance.

Perhaps, from the veils of the unseen, a promise will appear to him.

He says, when dawn gathers up its hem:

When will the wounded heart be healed, O Sa'd?
