للقومِFor the company فيin حضرَةِthe court of التَّصريفِgovernance ديوانُa council
للقومِ في حضرَةِ التَّصريفِ ديوانُ
بهin it مُلوكٌkings وقُوَّادٌand commanders وفُرْسانُand knights
به مُلوكٌ وقُوَّادٌ وفُرْسانُ
The company has a council in the court of governance;
The people have in the presence of destiny a book
In it are kings, commanders, and knights.
In it are kings, generals, and horsemen
تبدوappear الخَفاياhidden things علىaccording to مضمونِthe purport of حِكمَتِهِمْtheir wisdom
تبدو الخَفايا على مضمونِ حِكمَتِهِمْ
فهُمْthus they لباطِنِfor the inward aspect of حُكمِthe decree of الغيبِthe unseen بُرْهانُproof
فهُمْ لباطِنِ حُكمِ الغيبِ بُرْهانُ
Hidden things appear according to the purport of their wisdom;
The secrets become apparent in the content of their wisdom
Thus they are proof of the inward aspect of the unseen’s decree.
For they are proof of the inner workings of the unseen
نِظامُهُمْtheir order فيin طَواياthe hidden folds of شأنِthe nature of سيرَتِهِمْtheir conduct
نِظامُهُمْ في طَوايا شأنِ سيرَتِهِمْ
وكشْفِهاand its unveiling سُنَّةٌa tradition تُروىthat is transmitted وقُرآنُand the Qur’an
وكشْفِها سُنَّةٌ تُروى وقُرآنُ
Their order, in the hidden folds of the nature of their conduct
Their system in the intricacies of their conduct
and in its unveiling, is a transmitted tradition and the Qur’an.
And its exposure is a tradition related and recited
