أَتَتنيcame to me أَياديكَyour favors الَّتيwhich لاnot أَعُدُّهاI count them
أَتَتني أَياديكَ الَّتي لا أَعُدُّها
فَأَربَتso they exceeded عَلىbeyond فَهميmy understanding وَحَدسيand my intuition وَتَميِيزيand my discernment
فَأَربَت عَلى فَهمي وَحَدسي وَتَميِيزي
Your favors came to me, too many for me to count;
Your hands came to me, countless
They surpassed my understanding, my intuition, and my discernment.
They stroked my mind, my intuition, my discernment
وَكُنتَand I was (vocalized here: and you were) أَرىI thought أَنّيthat I مَليءٌcapable بِشُكرِهاof giving thanks for them
وَكُنتَ أَرى أَنّي مَليءٌ بِشُكرِها
فَماyet not بَرِحَتthey ceased حَتّىuntil أَرَتنِيَthey showed me تَعجيزيmy inability
فَما بَرِحَت حَتّى أَرَتنِيَ تَعجيزي
And I had thought myself capable of giving thanks for them;
And I thought I was full with gratitude for them
Yet they did not cease until they showed me my inability.
Yet they persisted until they showed me my incapacity
