أَحبابَناour dear ones أَزِفَhas drawn near الرَحيdeparture (first part)
أَحبابَنا أَزِفَ الرَحي
لُcompletion of 'departure' فَزَوِّدوناso provision us بِالدُعاءِwith prayers
لُ فَزَوِّدونا بِالدُعاءِ
Our dear ones, departure draws near;
Our loved ones, the ship is nearing,
so provision us with prayers.
So provide us with prayers,
أَحبابَناour dear ones هَلis there? بَعدَafter هَthis (first part)
أَحبابَنا هَل بَعدَ هَ
ذاcompletion of 'this' اليَومِthe day يَومٌa day لِلِّقاءِfor meeting
ذا اليَومِ يَومٌ لِلِّقاءِ
Our dear ones, will there be, after this
Our loved ones, is there anything after this?
day, a day when we meet?
Today is a day of meeting,
إِنّيindeed I لَأَعرِفُsurely know مِنكُمُfrom you
إِنّي لَأَعرِفُ مِنكُمُ
ياسادَتيO my masters حُسنَbeauty الوَفاءِfaithfulness
ياسادَتي حُسنَ الوَفاءِ
I surely recognize in you,
I know from you,
O my masters, the beauty of faithfulness.
My masters, your good loyalty,
مُذsince كُنتُI was فيكُمamong you لَمnot يَخِبfail
مُذ كُنتُ فيكُم لَم يَخِب
أَمَليmy hope وَلَمand not يَخبُfade رَجائيmy expectation
أَمَلي وَلَم يَخبُ رَجائي
Since I was among you, never has
Since I was among you, my hope never failed
my hope failed, nor has my expectation faded.
Nor failed my aspirations,
وَلَقَدand indeed رَحَلتُI departed وَإِنَّنيand indeed I
وَلَقَد رَحَلتُ وَإِنَّني
بِالفَضلِthrough generosity مَنشورُunfurled اللِواءِthe banner
بِالفَضلِ مَنشورُ اللِواءِ
I have indeed departed, with my
And I traveled, and I am
banner unfurled through your generosity.
With merit, raising the banner,
لاnot تَستَقِلَّbear بِيَwith me المَطِthe riding camels (first part)
لا تَستَقِلَّ بِيَ المَطِ
يُّcompletion of 'the riding camels' لِماbecause of what حَمَلنَthey have borne مِنَof الثَناءِpraise
يُّ لِما حَمَلنَ مِنَ الثَناءِ
The riding camels cannot bear me,
Do not think little of me
for the praise they have borne.
For what I carried of praise,
وَإِذاand when ذَكَرتُكُمُI remember you غَنيhad no need (verb continued)
وَإِذا ذَكَرتُكُمُ غَني
تُI (verb ending) بِذاكَthrough that عَنof زادٍprovisions وَماءِand water
تُ بِذاكَ عَن زادٍ وَماءِ
And when I remember you, I can dispense
And when I mention you
with provisions and water through that remembrance.
I am fulfilled by that, without provisions or water,
عِنديI have لَكُمfor you ذاكَthat الوَفاfaithfulness (first part)
عِندي لَكُم ذاكَ الوَفا
ءُcompletion of 'faithfulness' المُستَمِرُّenduring عَلىin الوَلاءِloyalty
ءُ المُستَمِرُّ عَلى الوَلاءِ
I hold for you that faithfulness
With you is that continuous loyalty
that endures in loyalty.
To allegiance,
فَعلَيكُمُso upon you أَبَداًforever سَلاmy greeting of peace (first part)
فَعلَيكُمُ أَبَداً سَلا
ميcompletion of 'my greeting of peace' فيin الصَباحِthe morning وَفيand in المَساءِthe evening
مي في الصَباحِ وَفي المَساءِ
So upon you forever be my greeting of peace,
So upon you always my
in the morning and in the evening.
