مَحَبَّتيmy love توجِبُwarrants إِدلاليmy taking liberties
وَأَنتَand you ذوpossessed of فَضلٍmerit وَإِفضالِand generosity
My love warrants my taking liberties,
My love obliges my being spoiled
And you are endowed with merit and generosity.
While you are of merit and bestowal
وَبَينَناand between us مِنof سالِفِpast الوِدِّthe affection ماthat which
يوجِبُobliges أَنthat تَسأَلَyou ask عَنabout حاليmy condition
And between us is such longstanding affection
And between us is of old amity
As obliges you to ask how I fare.
That which obliges you ask of my state
فَاجعَلso place عَلىupon بالِكَyour mind شُغليmy business كَماjust as
شُكرُكَgratitude to you لاnot يَبرَحُdeparts عَنfrom باليmy mind
So keep my business in mind, just as
So set upon your mind my occupation as
My gratitude to you never leaves my mind.
Your gratitude never leaves my mind
