أَصبَحتُ لا شُغلٌ وَلا عُطلَةٌ

أَصبَحتُ لا شُغلٌ وَلا عُطلَةٌ

مُذَبذَباً في صَفقَةٍ خاسِرَه

مُذَبذَباً في صَفقَةٍ خاسِرَه

I now have neither work nor leisure,

I have become neither busy nor idle,

Wavering in a losing bargain.

Wavering in a losing deal.

وَجُملَةُ الأَمرِ وَتَفصيلُهُ

وَجُملَةُ الأَمرِ وَتَفصيلُهُ

أَن صِرتُ لا دُنيا وَلا آخِرَه

أَن صِرتُ لا دُنيا وَلا آخِرَه

And the matter, in sum and in detail,

The crux of the matter, in summary and detail,

Is that I now have neither this world nor the hereafter.

Is that I have ended up with neither this world nor the next.
