وَلَعَمري أَنتَ أَعلى وَأَجَلّ
I have indeed been bold, yet in you there is forbearance.
I have dared though within you lies the possibility
And, by my life, you are loftier and more exalted.
By my life, you are the highest and most glorious

What might a benevolent master do
What might a benevolent patron do
to a lover who has transgressed in what he did?
To a lover who did what he has done

So favor me with gracious acceptance,
So please accept gracefully
for generosity has long been yours and has never ceased.
For the favor has always been yours from the start
