أَناI أَدريknow بِأَنَّنيthat I
قَلَّhas dwindled قِسميmy share لَدَيكُمُwith you
I know full well: my portion
I know that
with you has dwindled.
My share with you has dwindled.
فَإِلىso until كَمhow long تَطَلُّعيmy expectant looking
وَاِلتِفاتيand my turning إِلَيكُمُtoward you
So how much longer shall I yearn
So how long shall I keep looking
and turn toward you?
And turning toward you?
مَنwhoever رَآنيsees me يَرِقُّfeels pity ليfor me
ضائِعاًlost فيin يَدَيكُمُyour hands
Whoever sees me pities me,
Whoever sees me feels pity for me,
lost in your hands.
Lost in your hands.
كانَwas ماكانَwhat was بَينَناbetween us
وَسَلامٌand peace عَلَيكُمُupon you
What lay between us has run its course.
What passed between us is past;
And peace be upon you.
And peace be upon you.
