هَذِهِ أَوَّلُ حاجاتي إِلَيك

وَبِها أَعرِفُ مِقداري لَدَيك

This is my first request of you

By it I know my worth to you

أَرِني ما لَم أَزَل أَسمَعُهُ

مِن أَيادٍ رُوِيَت لي عَن يَدَيك

Show me what I have always heard

Of hands outstretched from you to me

بَينَنا مِن أَدَبٍ يُعزى لَهُ

نَسَبٌ أَوجَبَ إِدلالي عَلَيك

Between us is a courtesy attributed

To a lineage that necessitated my reliance on you

وَسَأَجزيكَ ثَناءً حَسَناً

أَملَأُ الأَرضَ بِهِ مِنّي إِلَيك

And I will reward you with fine praise

That I will spread across the land from me to you
