أَقوالُهُhis sayings لَيسَthere is not لَهاfor them تَأويلُan interpretation
And many a speaker knows not what he says.
His words admit of no interpretation.
لَهاin them فُضولٌexcess كُلُّهاall of it فُضولُsuperfluity
كَثيرُthe abundance of ماwhat يَقولُهُhe says it قَليلُlittle
They contain excess, all of it superfluous.
His copious talk amounts to little.

So they are branches without roots.
Minds spit out his speech.

His long talk has wearied me.
If only it bore some fruit!

And the gist of the matter—and I shall not go on—
He is lead: cold and heavy.
