ياO سائِليyou who ask me عَمّاabout what تَجَدَّدَhas changed ليfor me
يا سائِلي عَمّا تَجَدَّدَ لي
الحالُthe condition لَمhas not يَنقُصdiminished وَلَمand has not يَزِدِincreased
الحالُ لَم يَنقُص وَلَم يَزِدِ
O you who ask me what has changed for me,
My condition has neither diminished nor increased.
وَكَماand as عَلِمتَyou know فَإِنَّنيso indeed I رَجُلٌa man
وَكَما عَلِمتَ فَإِنَّني رَجُلٌ
أَفنىI waste away وَلاand do not أَشكوI complain إِلىto أَحَدِanyone
أَفنى وَلا أَشكو إِلى أَحَدِ
And as you know, I am a man
Who wastes away and complains to no one.
