وَثَقيلٍand a bore كَأَنَّماas though
وَثَقيلٍ كَأَنَّما
مَلَكُangel المَوتِdeath قُربُهُhis nearness
مَلَكُ المَوتِ قُربُهُ
And a bore—as though
Heavy as though
his nearness were the Angel of Death.
The angel of death were near him.
لَيسَthere is not فيamong الناسِpeople كُلُّهُمall of them
لَيسَ في الناسِ كُلُّهُم
مَنanyone whom تَراهُyou see him يُحِبُّهُlikes him
مَن تَراهُ يُحِبُّهُ
Among all people there is not
None among all people
anyone you see who likes him.
Would you find who loves him.
لَوif ذَكَرتَyou mentioned اِسمَهُhis name عَلىover الthe
لَو ذَكَرتَ اِسمَهُ عَلى ال
ماءِwater ماnot ساغَwas palatable شُربُهُdrinking it
ماءِ ما ساغَ شُربُهُ
If you mentioned his name over the

water, it would not be pleasant to drink.
