خَلَّيتُ كُلَّ الناسِ ما خَلاكُمُ

خَلَّيتُ كُلَّ الناسِ ما خَلاكُمُ

وَقُلتُ ما لي أَحَدٌ سِواكُمُ

وَقُلتُ ما لي أَحَدٌ سِواكُمُ

I forsook all people, save you;

I forsook everyone except you.

And said, “I have no one but you.”

And I said, "I have no one but you."

وَأَنتُمُ عَلَيَّ ما أَجفاكُمُ

وَأَنتُمُ عَلَيَّ ما أَجفاكُمُ

خُلقِيَ خُلقي دائِماً أَرعاكُمُ

خُلقِيَ خُلقي دائِماً أَرعاكُمُ

Yet how cold you are to me!

And you—how cruel you are to me!

My nature is ever to care for you;

My nature remains unchanged; I always care for you.

وَكُلُّ ما أَسخَطَني أَرضاكُمُ

وَكُلُّ ما أَسخَطَني أَرضاكُمُ

وَاللَهُ لا أَفلَحَ مَن يَهواكُمُ

وَاللَهُ لا أَفلَحَ مَن يَهواكُمُ

And whatever displeases me pleases you.

And all that displeased me pleased you.

By God, whoever loves you will never prosper.

By God, may no one who loves you prosper!

وَبَعدَ ذا سُبحانَ مَن أَعطاكُمُ

وَبَعدَ ذا سُبحانَ مَن أَعطاكُمُ

And after all this—glory be to Him who gave you what you have.

And after this, glory be to Him who endowed you!
