بِروحِيَwith my soul (as ransom) مَنthe one whom لاnot أَستَطيعُI can فِراقَهُparting from him
بِروحِيَ مَن لا أَستَطيعُ فِراقَهُ
وَمَنand the one who هُوَhe is أَوفىmore faithful مِنthan أَخيmy brother وَشَقيقيand my full brother
وَمَن هُوَ أَوفى مِن أَخي وَشَقيقي
My soul would ransom the one from whom I cannot part,
With my soul is he whom I cannot bear to part
And who is more faithful than my brother and my full brother.
And who is more loyal than my brother and friend
إِذاwhen غابَhe is absent عَنّيfrom me لَمnot أَزَلI cease مُتَلَفِّتاًlooking around
إِذا غابَ عَنّي لَم أَزَل مُتَلَفِّتاً
أَدورُI turn بِعَينيwith my eye نَحوَtoward كُلِّevery طَريقِroad
أَدورُ بِعَيني نَحوَ كُلِّ طَريقِ
When he is absent from me, I keep looking around,
When he is absent from me I never cease to look
Turning my eye toward every road.
I turn my eyes to every road and bend
