In the palm gardens where dawn assembles

the light together after its scattering.

The splendor after its scattering

The union of light after its scattering.

فإذا الروض فتنة تتجلى

فإذا الروض فتنة تتجلى

 من صناع الأنامل المبدعات

من صناع الأنامل المبدعات

And behold, the garden is enchantment revealed,

And the garden appears as charm embodied

Thus the garden becomes a revealed enchantment,

wrought by deft, creative fingers.

By the work of creative fingers

From the work of creative fingertips.

أخذت جليها الطبيعة فيه

أخذت جليها الطبيعة فيه

 وبدت في غلائل عطرات

وبدت في غلائل عطرات

Nature took on her unveiled splendor there,

Nature has clad it in its finery

Nature has taken its adornment therein,

and appeared in fragrant, gauzy robes.

And adorned it in scented locks

And appeared in fragrant, sheer robes.

توجت بالزهور مفرقها

 الجدول رب الخمائل الهامسات

She crowned her hair's parting with flowers—

It has crowned it with flowers

It crowned the stream's parting with flowers,

the brook, lord of the whispering thickets.

The stream, lord of sly gazelles

The master of the whispering thickets.

و انثنت تستحث ماشطة الريح

و انثنت تستحث ماشطة الريح

 و تبدي النجيل للماشطات

و تبدي النجيل للماشطات

And she turned, urging on the wind, her hairdresser,

Bends down hastily combing the wind

And it swayed, urging the combing wind,

and showed the grass to the combing maids.

And reveals the meadows to the combs

Revealing the grass to the combers.

و المروج الحسان هامت عليها

و المروج الحسان هامت عليها

حرق من تنهدات الرعاة

And over the lovely meadows drifted

And the beautiful pastures sway over it

And the beautiful meadows, wandering upon them,

burning pangs from the shepherds' sighs.

و العذارى بين الربى يتهادين

ندي النوار و الزهرات

ندي النوار و الزهرات

And the maidens among the hills exchange

And the maidens converse gently

And maidens among the hills exchange gifts,

dewy blossoms and flowers.

With the chime of bells and flowers

The dew of blossoms and flowers.

و الغدير الوسنان ظلله الكرم

و الغدير الوسنان ظلله الكرم

و اصبى امواجه الموهنات

و اصبى امواجه الموهنات

And the drowsy pool—the vine shaded it

And the tender stream is shaded by the vine

And the drowsy brook is shaded by vines,

and enchanted its languid waves.

Its waves weakened

Charming its weary, languid waves.

فتزجي ألحانها الساحرات

A scene whose colors enrapture the birds,

so they send forth their enchanting melodies.

و هدوء الحقول تلقى لديه

النفس ما ترتجيه من غايات

the soul finds the ends it hopes to reach.

In the smile of the meadows at the ebb and flow

Of the gentle musical tides

both carrying tales of the sea's dance floor

The breezes made them reel when they gave them perfume to drink

Swayed by breezes when they watered them with scent,

in brimming cups of dew.

And the date-clusters' earrings sway alluringly

for ships under sail, gliding by.

In the revolving streets of the well

For ships sailing in flowing streets.
