In the happiest state, suddenly you are ruined.

زمان في قضيته جؤور

ودوار بما تأبى دؤور

Time is grievously unjust in its judgment,

And ever turning, it revolves with what you refuse.

رضى بقضائه أو لست ترضى

فعض يديك وانظر ما تصير

Whether content with its decree or not content,

So bite your hands and see what you become.
