كاسa wine cup وكنand a shelter وندمانand a drinking companion ومعشوقand a beloved
كاس وكن وندمان ومعشوق
I preferred you; but for glory, I would have been preferred
By a wine cup, a shelter, a drinking companion, and a beloved.
وفارسيand my horseman كوجهlike the face of الفيلthe elephant مضطربunsteady
وفارسي كوجه الفيل مضطرب
ينحىbears down عليهon him رشيقgraceful القدof stature ممشوقtall and slender
ينحى عليه رشيق القد ممشوق
And my horseman, like an elephant’s face, is unsteady;
