1. How many tyrants have transgressed
And been unjust to us

To forsake those who betrayed us

3. How many lessons have we taught
And brought them near

4. And gave them high position
And they became boastful

5. Then they followed
The devil and the self

6. In evil they strove
Like a fleeing donkey

7. Woe to those who mocked
And took the path of mockery

8. They became laughing stocks
Woe to them on the day of escape

9. The day foes meet
The day judges are selected

10. The day flags are raised
Before a vanquishing King

11. O you who want safety
And spoils of war

12. Or seek mercy
Hold fast to the good people

13. The people of glory and highness
Of generosity and loyalty

14. Through them distress is uncovered
Their faces like the moon

15. They are kings of the world
Inheritors of the best of the world

16. Stars in the soil
A rain when rain is scarce

17. They are our rescue
On the day we meet

18. Happy is he who holds fast to them
He will be saved from hellfire

19. My Lord through them brings life to countries
With cattle and servants

20. Remembrance of them in every gathering
Covering settlements and towns

21. So beware my brother of insulting them
And beware degrading their honour

22. And be eager to be of their party
To be saved when sight dazzles
