1. Hasten, for winter has hastened,
Its clouds have not been short of rain or deficient,

2. The clouds urged their cups of rainwater,
So the land is intoxicated - how could it not be intoxicated?

3. It rolled up its dust, so the air cleared up,
Though its face had been dusty,

4. It rained, so it rejoiced, and its inhabitants rejoiced,
And were glad at the rain and became glad,

5. The green Sa'tari is turning away,
As is the red Hamaheem,

6. Taking their place in our gatherings
Is the fault-finder and the one dressed in fine clothes.

7. And the delicate violet gives pleasure
To my soul with its scent and sight,

8. And the doubled narcissus in which beauty is doubled
In white and yellow.

9. As if it were made of polished pearl
Or as if from it pearl were carved.

10. Pearls and ambergris in it were mixed
For the eye, and musk and amber within it.

11. Bring us our big citrons - whoever
Sees it, from all who have seen, extols it.

12. And bring us our apples, which are
Of all the fragrances, the most fragrant.

13. Red, white, as you see it,
And yellow and green.

14. So praise be to God, praise of one feeling delight
At what He decreed or predetermined,

15. If summer has gone, and it is thanked,
Then winter, too, in its actions is thanked.
