1. I yearn to see my pots boiling over,
And my cups circulating among the boon companions.

2. And to see my gathering, with the wind barricading
The fragrance between its people and the incense.

3. The singing girls gathered in it, as birds
Would gather on the branches.

4. And to see us stumbling in our cups,
Drunkenness in our heads, joy in our hearts.

5. When we are free, we think of nothing
But visiting a lover, who visits us in turn.

6. That is my way - chastity and modesty
Advanced or delayed my affairs.

7. A generous nature, and poetry however you wish.
And a humble life, and a forgiving Lord.

8. And neighborhood in glorious Hāshim -
My place among them is exalted, none may transgress.

9. Among our lords from the early Banū ‘Abd Manāf
They are our suns and full moons.

10. Coming down from their abodes to an abode
Soaring in the horizons of the air.

11. It dominated the wall in ascending the watchtower
So above the wall, from its watchtower, is a wall.

12. It is as if I built in eagles' eyries
A house, or eagles carried me to the sky.

13. A council where mountains and wilds
And seas meet before it.

14. And here these hills and here these palaces.
