1. Rejection, estrangement, aloofness, pride
Stinginess, miserliness, excess, extravagance

2. You have spoken of estrangement, distance, separation
You do not relent, bend, or pardon

3. There remains no kind of estrangement you don't know
In all of them, my lord, you stand supreme

I said: You have gleaned what I would describe

5. If the sun had but a fraction of his qualities
People would wish for its eclipse, of a thousand parts, one

6. Oh God! Oh God! In killing me, what crime
Have I committed against you, besides my passion for you?

7. I have wasted your beauty, if I do not gain intimacy
While life is pleasant, and joy is renewed

8. The roses you see, with beautiful features
Wilt on the branches, before they can be plucked

9. My lord, I am not pleased with your love
By letters exchanged between you and I

10. If you judge me fairly in what I seek
Of union, or I will take revenge
