1. My gratitude falls short of what you grant
And my arms fail to reach it

2. You surpassed your ancestors the Caliphs in generosity
So you are to what they herded the shepherd

3. O you the hoped rain
Its call to the plains and lands

4. You attained what can be attained of glories
And nothing but the attainable is your desire

5. A pastime that distracts us from the people of an era
Whose madness is distracted by beasts' madness

6. The wretch deceived is none but he
Who hopes for glory through deception

7. O Abu Al-Abbas, O full moon of glories
For its beholder, O sun of endeavors

8. The pigeons' fodder came on thoroughbreds
So my stables fell short of thoroughbreds

9. And people thought we have estates
That is some of the expensiveness of estates

10. O Abu Al-Abbas, O sweetest praise
To the ears, sweeter than hearing

11. If you have satiated my pigeons' hunger
How much have you satiated starving people
