فَسائِلُso ask جَحجَبيJahjabi وَبَنيand the sons of عَدِيٍّ'Adi
فَسائِلُ جَحجَبي وَبَني عَدِيٍّ
وَتيمَand Taym اللاتِal-Lat مَنwho عَقَدَfastened الخِزاماthe nose-rings
وَتيمَ اللاتِ مَن عَقَدَ الخِزاما
So ask Jahjabi and the sons of 'Adi,
Askers of my protection, Sons of 'Adiyy
and Taym al-Lat: who fastened the nose-rings?
And those in covenant with Lat - if they tie their belts
فَأَنَّاfor we قَدindeed جَمَعناwe gathered جَمعَa host of صِدقٍtrue worth
فَأَنَّا قَد جَمَعنا جَمعَ صِدقٍ
يُفَرِّجُclears away عَنfrom مَناكِبِهِits shoulders الزِحاماthe throng
يُفَرِّجُ عَن مَناكِبِهِ الزِحاما
For we have indeed gathered a steadfast host
We have indeed united in truthful league
that clears the throng away from its shoulders.
To relieve their shoulders of the crushing load
