There is no place like her in all the universe.

What sky, like hers, is adorned

With a clear expanse and radiance?

Grief from the eye of the sorrowful sufferer.

From it we savor a gentle breeze,

One that also safeguards bodily health.

And it has over our souls, on the nights of

Summer, the sway wine, the tavern’s daughter, has over reason.

In it, the sun parts her lips in a smile,

A solace for the sorrowful heart.

By night her brother follows her, a companion

To the heart of the sleepless, lovelorn one.

And when he sets, the sky shines forth

With brilliant stars, like a garden in April,

Dispelling darkness from her and embroidering

Her cheeks with the most exquisite colors.
