إِنَّindeed الكَتائِبَthe battalions لاnot يُهزَمنَare defeated بِالكُتِبِby letters
Convey a message to Yazid of Banu Shayban:
Convey to Yazid ibn Shiban a message
Indeed, battalions are not defeated by letters.
Armies cannot be defeated by books
إِنَّindeed الوَعيدَthreats بِظَهرِat the back of الغَيبِabsence مَعجِزَةٌa sign of weakness
فَإِنso if أَرَدتَyou wish قِتالَfighting القَومِthe men فَاِقتَرِبِthen come closer
Indeed, threats made behind one's back are a sign of weakness.
Threatening the unseen is a miracle
So if you wish to fight the men, then come closer.
If you want to fight the people, get close
