رأيت مخاضي أنكرت عبداتها
محلَّthe encampment of أوليthe owners of الخيماتthe tents منin بطنthe valley of أرثداArthad
محلَّ أولي الخيمات من بطن أرثدا
I saw that the sturdy ones among my pregnant she-camels did not recognize
the tent-dwellers’ camp in the valley of Arthad.
إذاwhenever راعياهاtheir two herdsmen أورداهاthe two brought them to water شريعةa watering place
إذا راعياها أورداها شريعة
أعاماthe two left them thirsty علىon دمنthe dung by الحياضthe watering troughs وصرَّداand the two gave them scant water
أعاما على دمن الحياض وصرَّدا
Whenever their two herdsmen brought them to a watering place,
they left them thirsty on the dung by the troughs and gave them scant water.
ولوجارهاand if their neighbor were ابنson of المازنيةal-Maziniyya ثابتThabit
ولوجارها ابن المازنية ثابت
لروّحwould have driven them home at evening راعيهاtheir herdsman وندىand grazed them between drinks وأورداand brought them to water
لروّح راعيها وندى وأوردا
And had their neighbor been Thabit, son of al-Maziniyya,
their herdsman would have driven them home at evening, grazed them between drinks, and watered them.
