She toys with men's minds, as though she were
a full moon appearing amid the throngs when she unveils.

She complained of illness so she might be visited, yet she has no
illness a visitor could find save the languor of her eyes.
مِنَamong البيضِthe fair-skinned women لاnot تَلقاكَshe meets you إِلّاexcept مَصونَةًwell-guarded

One of the fair-skinned, she never meets you unguarded,
and walks like a ban-tree bough among the maidens.

As though the Pleiades, when they shone at dusk,
were strung in necklaces upon her breast.

Delicate-limbed, a tender maiden, as though she were
a crescent moon upon a swaying bough of the ban tree.

Her form holds every beauty found in full-breasted maidens;
so she has no faults except those envious women allege.
