وَإِن تَكُ حَربُكُم أَمسَت عَوان

وَإِن تَكُ حَربُكُم أَمسَت عَوان

فَإِنّي لَم أَكُن مِمَّن جَناها

فَإِنّي لَم أَكُن مِمَّن جَناها

And if your war has broken out anew,

Though your war finds you now unprepared,

Then I was not among those who brought it about.

I was not of those whom it spared,

وَلَكِن وُلدُ سَودَةَ أَرَّثوه

وَلَكِن وُلدُ سَودَةَ أَرَّثوه

وَشَبّوا نارَها لِمَنِ اِصطَلاها

وَشَبّوا نارَها لِمَنِ اِصطَلاها

But Sawda's offspring kindled it,

But the sons of Sawdah kindled its flame

And lit its fire for whoever endured its heat.

Against those who would seek to defame,

فَإِنّي لَستُ خاذِلَكُم وَلَكِن

فَإِنّي لَستُ خاذِلَكُم وَلَكِن

سَأَسعى الآنَ إِذ بَلَغَت أَناها

سَأَسعى الآنَ إِذ بَلَغَت أَناها

For I am not one to abandon you; rather,

I do not forsake you, but rather

I shall strive now, since its time has come.

I strive ever onward together
