وَأَنتَ الَّذي كَلَّفتَني دَلَجَ السُرى

وَأَنتَ الَّذي كَلَّفتَني دَلَجَ السُرى

وَجونُ القَطا بِالجَلهَتَينِ جُثومُ

وَجونُ القَطا بِالجَلهَتَينِ جُثومُ

And you are the one who charged me to journey by night,

You who sent me into the darkest night,

While the dark sandgrouse roost on the valley’s two banks.

While the wild cats scream with both my ears deafened,
