الرمحُ لا أملأ كفِّي به

الرمحُ لا أملأ كفِّي به

واللِّبدُ لا أَتبعُ تَزوالَه

واللِّبدُ لا أَتبعُ تَزوالَه

The spear—I do not fill my palm with it;

I do not fill my hands with spears,

and the felt saddlecloth—I do not follow its shifting.

Nor do I follow the passing of mirages.
